“ALPHA TRUST – ANDROMEDA PORTFOLIO INVESTMENT COMPANY S.A.” informs the investment community that Mr. Phaedon Theodoros Tamvakakis has submitted his resignation, for personal reasons, from his position as a non-executive member of the Company’s Board of Directors and as Vice Chairman. The members of the Board of Directors have accepted Mr. Tamvakakis resignation effective immediately, and have decided not to replace him. Instead, the remaining four members of the Board will continue to manage and represent the Company, given their competence and experience, until the next General Assembly.
The outgoing Vice Chairman, Mr. Phaedon Theodoros Tamvakakis, stated:
“Over the past 25 years, the Athens Stock Exchange has lost 23 out of the 24 portfolio investment companies. Along with them, approximately €4.2 billion (since 1999) in long-term capital, which historically contributed to market stabilization during extreme periods, also disappeared. At the same time, a significant number of investors who had benefited from professional management and enjoyed exceptional returns were scattered.
Closing the chapter of my participation on the Board of Directors of ‘Andromeda,’ I feel satisfied that this particular portfolio company was the only one to survive and, in fact, delivered a return of 192.29% (compared to -19.43% of the ATHEX Composite Total Return Index since inception on 25/07/2000), while also distributing regular dividends. I hope my contribution has been positive.
With confidence in the management and the investment manager, I firmly believe that the best is yet to come.
I wish everyone all the best.”
The members of the Board of Directors sincerely thank Mr. Tamvakakis for his service on the Board and for his excellent collaboration over the years. They express their gratitude for his significant contribution to the continued success of the Company.
